Game notes: Monitor the Red Bull intake and pace yourself with the coffee, as one of the final games of the night on Friday, Michigan State and Davidson, meet with a spot in the second round on the line. The winner of this game will face Duke on Sunday.

This is the first time the Spartans and Wildcats have met in the NCAA tournament, despite both schools being tournament regulars over the last decade. Michigan State's Tom Izzo and Davidson's Bob McKillop have a combined 1,299 victories over their careers.

The Wildcats are led by former MSU captain and 2018 Michigan Mr. Basketball Foster Loyer's 16.3 points per game and 3.3 assists. He's one of the most prolific 3-point shooters in the sport, shooting 44.5% on 5.9 attempts per game (2.6 makes).

MSU enters banged up at point guard, but has a balanced attack that sees five players averaging between eight and 11 points per game. Gabe Brown is tops at 11.4 points.
