Hello! It’s transfer portal season for the 2022-2023 college football offseason.

The new transfer portal window officially opens Monday, and that hasn’t stopped players from announcing their plans to leave their schools ahead of the first day they can enter the portal. We saw a lot of transfer announcements over the weekend, which means it’s time to give you our national transfer tracker. This isn’t a list of players who have decided to transfer to USC, though you can be assured that Lincoln Riley has his eye on a lot of prospects. It’s simply a partial list of players who have already stated their intent to leave their current school and play elsewhere.

Last year, more than 3,000 FBS players entered the portal, which was open year-round. Quarterbacks Caleb Williams (USC), Quinn Ewers (Texas), Bo Nix(Oregon), and Spencer Rattler (South Carolina) were among the prominent transfers who made an immediate impact at their new schools.

Here’s an early look at the transfers on the open market:

Drew Pyne (Notre Dame)

Fighting Irish quarterback Drew Pyne intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal. The third-year signal caller will have three years of eligibility at his next destination.

Pyne started 10 games for Notre Dame this season, leading them to an 8-2 record in the games he played.

Pyne is a 6-foot, 205-pound quarterback from New Canaan, Conn., who was a four star quarterback coming out of high school.

Drew Pyne finished the season with 2,021 passing yards to go with 22 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Graham Mertz (Wisconsin)

The expectations were high for Mertz starting out. He was rated a four-star recruit by 247 Sports, ESPN and Rivals which made him the highest rated QB for Wisconsin in its history.

However, during his 2020 and 2021, Mertz struggled to improve his consistency. He started all seven games in 2020 and all 13 in 2021, completing 169 out of 284 passes in 2021 for 1,958 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Mertz is the first player to announce his transfer intentions since Luke Fickell was named the new head coach of the program last Sunday.

Mertz has two years of eligibility left in his career in college.

Brennan Armstrong (Virginia)

The UVA record-setting quarterback has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, according to multiple reports. Armstrong had one year of eligibility left due to the COVID year.

Brennan Armstrong leaves UVA ranking first in Virginia history in career passing yards, total offense and passing touchdowns, thanks in part to a 2021 season that saw him place among the top quarterbacks in the country with 4,449 yards and 31 touchdowns.

DJ Uiagalelei (Clemson)

Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei is expected to enter the transfer portal after two years as the Tigers’ starter, according to 247Sports’ Chris Hummer. The junior signal caller will have up to three years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.

Uiagalalei completed 59.8% of his passes for 5,681 yards, 36 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in 35 appearances for Clemson. The Tigers failed to make the CFB Playoff in either of his years as a starter, snapping a streak of six consecutive appearances.

Mason Cobb leaves Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State LB Mason Cobb announces he’s entering the transfer portal.

Cobb earned second-team All-Big 12 honors after a very good season with the Cowboys: 96 tackles, 22 pressures and 13 tackles for loss.

Haynes King (Texas A&M)

The Aggie quarterback is officially in the portal, seeking a fresh start after a rocky career under Jimbo Fisher.

Hank Bachmeier (Boise State)

The veteran Boise State QB wants a fresh start. He still has eligibility left because of the COVID year of eligibility granted to players following the 2020 pandemic season.

Hudson Card (Texas)

Stuck behind Quinn Ewers at Texas, Card wants some playing time elsewhere.

Nick Evers (Oklahoma)

It is a very complicated situation in Norman; let’s put it that way. Evers, a quarterback, is reconsidering his options.

Phil Jurkovec (Boston College)

The quarterback used to play for Notre Dame. He transferred to Boston College and was sidelined for most of the 2021 season with injuries. Now he wants to land at another program for 2023.

Chance Nolan (Oregon State)

USC intercepted him four times on Sept. 24 in Corvallis. Nolan is trying to hit the reset button on his career.

Brendon Lewis (Colorado)

Shedeur Sanders is coming to Boulder to be Colorado’s new QB. Lewis is obviously on the outs, along with a lot of other Buffaloes.

Jeff Sims (Georgia Tech)

The fact that Georgia Tech retained head coach Brent Key instead of hiring a new head coach outside the program did not prevent Sims from wanting out in Atlanta.

Denver Harris (Texas A&M)

D.J. Uiagalelei is the highest-ranked transfer in the Rivals transfer ratings. Harris, a defensive back, is rated No. 2.

Dominic Lovett (Missouri)

Lovett, a receiver, is No. 3 in the Rivals transfer rankings.

Dasan McCullough (Indiana)

The linebacker is No. 4 in the Rivals transfer rankings.

Sam McCall (Florida State)

The defensive back is No. 5 in the Rivals transfer rankings.

Dont'e Thornton (Oregon)

Thornton is rated No. 6 in the transfer rankings by Rivals. Ducks Wire is following this story.

Tunmise Adeleye (Texas A&M)

The defensive lineman is No. 7 in the Rivals transfer rankings.

L.J. Johnson (Texas A&M)

The running back is No. 10 in the Rivals transfer rankings. Brennan Armstrong, mentioned above, is also in the top 10. Wisconsin offensive lineman Logan Brown, also in the top 10, has already transferred to Kansas.

Kedon Slovis (Pittsburgh)

Amari Knight (Alabama)

The Alabama offensive lineman entered the portal Monday evening.

Austin Stogner (South Carolina) -- formerly of Oklahoma, he transferred from OU; UPDATE: Stogner has now returned to Oklahoma

Tony Grimes (UNC)

The UNC Tar Heels have lost ten players to the portal, including eight from the defensive side of the ball that’s the second most in the nation currently.

The newest member to exit Chapel Hill is former five-star cornerback Tony Grimes.

In 12 games this season, the former five-star DB Grimes record 36 total tackles, seven pass deflections, and one forced fumble.

Tommy Brockermeyer (Alabama)

The Texas native was ranked as a Top 10 player in the 2021 Class (No. 2 offensive tackle.

The Lone Star State OT had 25 power five offers including Texas, Clemson, USC, Texas A&M and many more.

Jojo Earle (Alabama)

Earle joins 9 other Alabama players that are transferring next season.

The 5-foot-10, 177-pound Earle was one of four Top 100 receivers in the Tide’s 2021 recruiting class, and now, three have transferred with Agiye Hall moving on to Texas in the offseason and Chris Leary entering the portal last week. Starting (WR) Ja’Corey Brooks is the only remaining signee.

IOWA PLAYERS IN THE PORTAL

Romello Brinson (Miami-FL)

Sophomore and former four-star wide receiver Romello Brinson announced Tuesday night on Twitter that he has “officially entered the NCAA transfer portal with two years left of eligibility.’’

KaTron Evans leaves Jackson State

Jackson State DL KaTron Evans has entered the transfer portal. The 6’3 315 defensive lineman from Norfolk, VA was ranked as a four-Star recruit in the ‘2021 Class.

Evans had a total of 41 offers including Tennessee, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Michigan State, Arkansas and more.

Gabriel Cavazos Jr (Mississippi St)

The 6’4, 285-pounder is a former 3-star that hails from Lake Cormorant where he picked the Mississippi State Bulldogs over offers from Memphis, Middle Tennessee, South Alabama and others and some interest from other SEC schools like Florida and Missouri.

MarShawn Lloyd (South Carolina)

Grayson McCall leaving Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina three year starting QB Grayson McCall enters transfer portal as somewhat as a minor surprise today.

He was a finalist for the Manning Award and a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, and was the 2020 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, the conference Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Sun Belt Conference.

McCall threw for 2,873 yards and 27 touchdowns with three interceptions while also rushing for four touchdowns. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year for the second year in a row

Jeremiah Wilson transfer from Syracuse

Cornerback Jeremiah Wilson entered the portal Monday. He’s the seventh  player from Syracuse to leave the program this offseason and the third starter on the depth chart this season.

Wilson, a true freshman, played 158 snaps at corner for the Orange this season. He had 20 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and one pass breakup.

Nick Jackson of UVA enters portal

A three-time All-ACC selection, Jackson was leader of the UVA defense for the last three years. Jackson finished with 104 tackles, 41 of them solo stops, seven tackles for loss, five sacks, four pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, and a fumble recovery.

He and McCall who also trasnfered today from Coastal Carolina will be two of the most sought out players in this years portal and Jackson would be a great target for programs like: USC, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, UCLA and Texas.

Emory Jones (Arizona State)

Tyneil Hopper (Boise St)

Boise State transfer TE Tyneil Hopper committed to Michigan State.

Keeshawn Silver (UNC)

Sliver is a former five-star prospect tabbed as the nation’s 8th-best player, the No. 3 defensive end and the No. 1 player in the state (NC) according to ESPN. Silver is a incoming junior with two years left.

JQ Hardaway (UC)

Cincinnati transfer DB JQ Hardaway committed to Kentucky he was formerly the No. 15 safety and the No. 192 prospect overall in the 2021 class.

Jianni Woodson-Brooks (Navy)

Sophomore Navy LB Jianni Woodson-Brooks entered the transfer portal; he finished the 2022 season with 42 tackles and 1 TFL.

Gilber Edmond (South Carolina)

South Carolina DL Gilber Edmond entered the transfer portal; he finished the 2022 season with 39 tackles, 9 TFL and 2 sacks

Jabbar Muhammad (Oklahoma State)

Oklahoma State DB Junior Jabbar Muhammad entered the transfer portal; he finished the 2022 season with 48 tackles, 1 INT and 10 Deflections

Billy Wiles (Clemson)

After entering the transfer portal on December 5th, Clemson quarterback Billy Wiles announced on Twitter Thursday that he would be committing to play football at the University of Southern Mississippi. A former walk-on for Clemson in 2021, Wiles was placed on scholarship in 2022.

Marquis Groves-Killebrew

Texas A&M CB Marquis Groves-Killebrew is transferring out of College Station making him the 23rd player to enter the portal.

Kiyaunta Goodwin (Kentucky)

The 6 foot- 8, 350 pound former four-star recruit is transferring out of Lexington. Kentucky true freshman OL Kiyaunta Goodwin entered the transfer portal; he played in 11 games this season

Jabari Johnson (UL Monroe)

Louisiana-Monroe transfer DB Jabari Johnson entered the transfer portal; he totaled 185 tackles, 5 TFL, 2 INT and 7 PD during his three years with ULM.

Taijh Alston (West Virginia)

West Virginia DL Taijh Alston entered the portal as a grad transfer; over the last two seasons he totaled 54 tackles, 14 TFL, 7 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.
