Nashville's top girls high school basketball players in the 1980s from Karen Booker to Sheila Frost

The foundation was laid in the 1970s for the Nashville area to become a hotbed in Tennessee high school girls basketball. That momentum continued into the 1980s and the area became known, not only in the state, but throughout the South and eventually nationally, for producing some of the best high school girls basketball players.

Teams such as Shelbyville, Gallatin, Mt. Juliet, Pearl and Whites Creek featured outstanding players throughout the decade of the 1980s.

The Tennessean identified the best from the era for its 1980s all-decade girls basketball team.

The year the player graduated is in parenthesis.
