Josi, Forsberg, Carrier, Saros boost Nashville Predators to comeback win over Wild

After a one-game pit stop at home, the Nashville Predators returned to the road Thursday to begin a three-game trip in Minnesota against the Wild and former Predators coach John Hynes.

Michael McCarron appeared to have put the Predators ahead 1-0 just 1 minute 10 seconds into the first period of their 3-2 victory. He tipped in Jeremy Lauzon’s shot but officials ruled that McCarron was guilty of high sticking on the play.

Joel Eriksson Ek’s power-play goal with 7:16 left in the second put the Wild ahead 1-0. It was his 21st goal of the season.

But three goals in the third period, including two in a span of 35 seconds from Alexandre Carrier and Filip Forsberg gave Nashville (26-21-1) a 2-1 lead.It was Carrier’s fourth goal and Forsberg’s 23rd.

Roman Josi’s 10th goal of the season made it 3-1 Predators with 9:28 left in the third.Minnesota’s second power-play goal of the game, this one from Matt Boldy with 3:51 remaining in regulation, pulled the home team within one of the Predators, 3-2. It was his 16th goal of the season.

Juuse Saros made 22 saves for the Predators.

The Predators will travel to Edmonton and Ottawa before returning home next week.

Nashville was coming off a 4-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday and had lost two in a row and three of its past four. It was just the third time the Predators won a game this season when trailing after two periods.

The Predators, who began Thursday in the second wild-card playoff spot in the Western Conferenc, signed forward Cole Smith to a two-year, $2 million deal on Wednesday.

Minnesota is 21-22-5 and had its three-game winning streak snapped.
