MSU Basketball vs. Minnesota: Stream, broadcast info, prediction for Thursday

Michigan State basketball will look to boost its NCAA Tournament resume with a home matchup against Minnesota on Thursday night.

The Spartans enter this conference tilt looking to pick up a second straight victory. Michigan State beat Rutgers by double-digits in its last game, and currently sits at 10-7 overall and 2-4 in Big Ten play.

Minnesota is looking to stop a two-game losing skid and get back in the win column in this matchup. Prior to this short losing streak, Minnesota had won seven straight games. The Golden Gophers are 12-5 overall and 3-3 in Big Ten play this year.

Prediction: MSU 77, Minnesota 61

Michigan State has been tough to beat at home this year — well, at least in the past month since losing to their Big Ten opener to Wisconsin. The Spartans’ defense has been especially stifling at the Breslin Center and I expect that to continue against a Minnesota team that is starting to come back to earth a little bit. This game may be closer than fans want at halftime, but like we saw against Rutgers on Sunday, Michigan State will eventually pull away for a blowout victory.
