Montgomery-Area high school football matchups and predictions in Week 3
Week 3 of the Alabama High School Football season is here and games will begin Thursday, Sept. 4 for a weekend of nonstop high school football action.
The Montgomery Advertiser will be present at Alabama Christian hosting Trinity on Friday. However, here are the top five Montgomery-area matchups in Week 3 with game predictions provided by our prep writer Jerry Humphrey III.

Park Crossing vs Wetumpka
Date: Thursday, Sept. 14.
Time: 7 p.m.
Prediction: Wetumpka wins 21-0
Analysis: Both programs suffered defeats in Week 2 and Wetumpka is still searching for their first win of the 2023 season. As elusive as Wetumpka quarterback Nate Rogers is with his arm and legs, Wetumpka will get their first win over Park Crossing in dominant fashion.
Elmore County vs Central of Clay County
Date: Friday, Sept. 15
Time: 7 p.m.
Prediction: Elmore County wins 45-42
Analysis: Two undefeated teams will go to battle on Friday night as Elmore County host Central in its second home game of the season. Elmore County's offense has put up a total of 135 points through the first three weeks of the season. With a more mature roster, they will avenge last year's defeat to Central and win this matchup in a shootout.
Carver vs Russell County
Date: Friday, Sept. 15.
Time: 7 p.m.
Prediction: Carver wins 35-21
Analysis: Carver dominated Russell County in the last year's matchup 40-14 and the same result can happen again on Friday. Russell County is 0-2 this year, however and all its losses have come by three points or less this season. If Carver's offense can stay consistent and limit the turnovers they should win this by two scores or more.
Prattville vs Dothan High
Date: Friday, Sept. 15.
Time: 7 p.m.
Prediction: Prattville wins 21-14
Analysis: In a battle of the 7A programs, Prattville versus Dothan will be a smash mouth game between two great teams. Dothan is coming off a double overtime one-point loss to Auburn in Week 2 and will be looking for revenge in Week 3. Prattville fell to Dothan by four points in 2022 so this game will be an important one for both clubs.
Fort Dale vs Morgan Academy
Date: Friday, Sept. 15.
Time: 7 p.m.
Prediction: Fort Dale wins 42-35
Analysis: Fort Dale's Ethan Alford has been a staple for this red hot Eagles team who currently sits at 3-1 so far this season. After falling to Morgan Academy last year 55-20, Fort Dale offensive leaders in Alford and Ealum will lead the way in what should be a great matchup Friday night.
