SMCC's Illes crowned Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week
Adela Illes is used to tight races as a sprinter for the St. Mary Catholic Central track and field team.
The sophomore experienced another tight race in balloting for Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week for May 6-12.

Illes finished with 229 votes, just 18 better than New Boston Huron soccer player Rylie Cassette. Jefferson shot-put and discus thrower Layla Tahmouch was third with 137 and Bedford boys lacrosse player Blake Dlugosielski fourth with 115.
