Mo Bamba channels his inner Lou Bega, will wear No. 5 for the Magic next season
Ladies and gentleman, this is Bamba No. 5.
Texas center Mo Bamba — who rivals No. 1 overall pick DeAndre Ayton as the best big man in the 2018 NBA draft — was taken No. 6 overall in Thursday’s draft by the Magic, and officially arrived in Orlando on Friday afternoon.

Not long after he landed, we learned what number Bamba would rep next season — and he could not have chosen a better number.

His number choice had to have made Lou Bega, artist of the iconic 1999 song “Mambo No. 5,” incredibly happy — wherever Bega is in the world at the moment. Though it’s still unsure if Angela, Pamela, Sandra and Rita had anything to do with his decision.
At the very least, it sure provided for a lot of jokes on the Internet.
*clears throat*
A little bit of Nikola at the five
A little bit of Mario on the side
A little bit of Aaron on the team
A little bit of DJ Augustin
A little bit of Elfrid (now a Sun)
A little bit of Isaac, number one
A little bit of Simmons, Jonathan
A little Iwundu makes me a fan https://t.co/fs0mSH4kuN— Tucker (@twarner50) June 22, 2018
