JAKE MINTZ: Baseball organizations are like people. All of them are beautiful, some of them are just a little bit more beautiful than others. So let's start at the bottom of our 26-and-under talent rankings. Number 30, the Colorado Rockies. A lot of offensive talent in this system, particularly at the big-league level with guys like Ezequiel Tovar, but a total lack of arms and faith that we have in their ability to develop it has them at the bottom.

The Oakland Athletics at 29. Really like Zack Gelof. Kind of like Shea Langeliers at the big-league level, but there just aren't enough hitters to feel great about down on the farm.

At 28, the Los Angeles Angels, who have some promising young hitters in the big leagues, between shortstop Zack Neto, catcher Logan O'Hoppe, and first baseman, Nolan Schanuel. But the farm system, oh boy, it is more barren than a bodega before a snowstorm. 27, surprise, the Houston Astros. Kind of a fall off for them.

Yordan Alvarez aged out of this. They had a lot of steps back from their pitching that had them fall down our rankings. Yes, they still have Yainer Diaz behind the dish and Jeremy Peña at shortstop, but this is an organization that has sneaky taken a step back from an infrastructure level, even though they've continued winning at the big leagues.

And at number 26, the Chicago White Sox. If it wasn't for the presence of Luis Robert Jr. and Colson Montgomery, one of the top prospects in baseball, this system would be last. People around the game are very worried about the White Sox and their lack of talent. New general manager Chris Getz has a whole lot of work to do, but Robert and Montgomery keep them afloat at number 26.
