STARKVILLE — A nationally televised contest awaits Mississippi State women's basketball on Monday when No. 9 LSU comes to Humphrey Coliseum.
The Bulldogs (16-5, 3-3 SEC) are coming off their second road win of the SEC slate. MSU took down Florida in an 89-77 Quadrant 1 win on Monday. However, picking up another win of that stature won't be easy.
LSU (18-3, 5-2), the defending national champion, picked up a rare home loss on Thursday in one of the sport's best games this season. The Tigers were defeated by No. 1 South Carolina to snap a two-game winning streak.

Under coach Kim Mulkey, LSU has won three straight against Mississippi State. It's a noteworthy turnaround in the series after MSU had won the previous nine meetings.
Last season, Sam Purcell's first coaching the Bulldogs, LSU won the lone meeting between the teams − securing a 74-59 home victory.
The Tigers have six players averaging at least 10 points per game, including guard Hailey Van Lith, who transferred from Louisville to LSU in the offseason. While playing for the Cardinals (2020-2023), Van Lith overlapped with Purcell during his time (2013-2022) as an assistant there.
