Mississippi State football LB Nathaniel Watson arrested on suspicion of DUI
STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football linebacker Nathaniel Watson was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to a booking log from the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office. The arrest was made by Mississippi State University Police Department at 1:27 a.m., according to a sheriff's office spokesperson.
"We are aware of the matter and are continuing to gather information," coach Zach Arnett said in a statement Monday. "We do not have further comment at this time."
Watson is entering his sixth season at Mississippi State as he utilizes his extra COVID-19 year granted by the NCAA. He finished second in the SEC last season with 114 tackles − behind only fellow MSU linebacker Jett Johnson − after starting 12 of 13 games.

Watson played a key role in MSU's nine wins, recording seven games of at least 10 tackles − including in a win against rival Ole Miss.
Watson has appeared in 44 games for the Bulldogs, collecting 237 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and an interception.
He is a native of Maplesville, Alabama, who attended Maplesville High School. He was a three-star prospect in the class of 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
