Mississippi State baseball: Live score updates vs. New Orleans in Biloxi and how to watch

Mississippi State baseball’s winning streak was snapped Tuesday in a 6-5 loss against South Alabama at Shuckers Ballpark in Biloxi.

The Bulldogs (12-5) had won nine straight entering the game, which was the program’s longest winning streak since 2021. It appeared the streak would have a chance to reach 10 when Mississippi State jumped on South Alabama for a five-run fourth to take a 5-0 lead.

The offense was ignited by a three-run home run by Amani Larry before Dakota Jordan followed shortly with a two-run homer. For Jordan, it marked his fifth straight game with a home run.

While he was rounding the bases, words were exchanged between Jordan and USA third baseman Tyler Borges, which ultimately led to the ejection of Jaguars coach Mark Calvi.

South Alabama wasted no time responding, scoring three runs in the fifth. The Jaguars added another run in the seventh and entered the final inning trailing by one.

In the ninth, behind a two-run double from Ethan Melton, the Jaguars regained the lead and secured the win in the bottom half of the inning.

MSU will stay in Biloxi to face New Orleans (8-7) on Wednesday.
