Mission Oak’s Danny Gonzalez is the fan’s choice preseason football player of the year
Mission Oak High School quarterback Danny Gonzalez was voted by readers as the Visalia Times-Delta/Tulare Advance-Register’s fan choice Tulare County preseason player of the year.
More than 73,000 votes were cast during the three-day poll period. Gonzalez received a majority 15.85% of the selections, totaling 11,623 votes overall.
Gonzalez, a senior, is in his second year as the Hawks’ starting quarterback.
Golden West's Raymon Velazquez and Mt. Whitney's Jacob Barney came in second and third place, respectively. Velazquez received more than 9,000 votes, or around 12.40%, while Barney received more than 7,200 votes, or around 9.84%.
