Minnesota Vikings at Miami Dolphins: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 6 matchup

Who will start at quarterback when Mike McDaniel's Miami Dolphins return home to host Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings?

With both Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater in concussion protocol, the Dolphins could be forced to start rookie Skylar Thompson, who played most of Miami's Week 4 loss to the New York Jets. Can Kirk Cousins and the Vikings take advantage? The game is scheduled to kick off Sunday at 1 p.m. ET from Hard Rock Stadium.

Here's a look at the betting details and USA TODAY's NFL staff picks for the Vikings vs. Dolphins Week 6 game:

Lorenzo Reyes: Vikings 28, Dolphins 21

If anything, Minnesota has been consistent on offense, scoring at least 23 points across its five games (4-1), but no more than 29. With the Dolphins having uncertainty at quarterback, I’m backing the Vikings early. But watch this closer to game time. If Tua can go, and with this game in Miami, adjust accordingly.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson had 184 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Packers.

Safid Deen: Vikings 28, Dolphins 17

Don’t like the Dolphins' quarterback situation heading into this one with Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater missing time due to concussions. Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook should run wild on the Miami defense.

Lance Pugmire: Vikings 27, Dolphins 23

With Miami bracing for a start by third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson following concussions to Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater, the game strangely has a rather high total (45.5), so take it and watch Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson continue to shine.
