Middle Tennessee State men's golf team gets NCAA regional at-large bid

Middle Tennessee State's men's golf team is headed to the NCAA Salem Regional as an at-large selection.

The Blue Raiders will compete at the Cliffs at Keowee Falls in Salem, North Carolina, as a No. 11 seed in the regional, which is hosted by Clemson.

"We are very excited that we get to continue our season," coach Mark McEntire said. "Can't wait to get to South Carolina."

The regional round will take place May 15-17 at six sites. The low five teams and top individual not on those teams will advance from each regional to the finals May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.

RAIDERS' CHOICE: Jordan Ferguson, Courtney Whitson, Gretchen Mead win top honors for MTSU athletics

MTSU was the No. 2 seed in the Conference USA match play tournament, falling to Louisiana Tech in the semifinals.

MTSU enters the postseason as the No. 64 team in the country in the Golfstat rankings and No. 71 per Golfweek, both as of April 30. Blue Raider standout Owen Stamper is ranked No. 162 by Golfstat and No. 154 by Golfweek.

This is the Blue Raiders' 12th trip to the NCAA postseason as a team since 2000. MTSU has been represented in an NCAA regional in each of the last six years the postseason was held, five times as a team with individuals competing in the 2022 Norman Regional.
