Michigan basketball beats Michigan State, 69-50: Game thread replay
One of the best rivalries in all of college basketball is finally renewed, after nearly 13 months between matchups.
The Michigan Wolverines, on Senior Night, host the Michigan State Spartans for the first of two straight games between them (read our scouting report here). The rematch is Sunday in the regular season finale at Breslin Center. Michigan won the last game between the programs Feb. 8, 2020 in Ann Arbor, 77-68.
In the second year under coach Juwan Howard, Michigan is having one of its best seasons in program history, smashing every challenge — except for a big hiccup Tuesday against Illinois. The Wolverines are one win from a Big Ten regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in next week's conference tournament.

Meanwhile, Tom Izzo's Spartans are fighting to make the NCAA tournament, firmly on the bubble as they try to claim a tournament berth for the 23rd consecutive season. They have won four of five, including a gutty and important victory over Indiana on Tuesday. A split in this home-and-home likely cements them in the field of 68.
