Michigan wide receiver sets social media on fire with Reese’s Senior Bowl performance
Former Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson has made himself a lot of money this week during Reese’s Senior Bowl practices.
The speedy route runner originally from Hawaii led Michigan in receiving yards with 789 and touchdowns with 12 during the 2023 national title run. Wilson delivered big plays against Ohio State and Alabama to keep Michigan alive late in the season.
Wilson accepted a Senior Bowl invite and declared for the draft shortly after the Wolverines’ season ended. He was viewed as a mid-round pick by most draft experts but put on a stellar performance on the first day which has turned heads from many NFL scouts.
The Senior Bowl is the largest scouting event of the year outside of the NFL combine. Players get official measurements, compete against dozens of other NFL prospects, and can interview with pro scouts. Wilson has already impressed with his practice performances, but could put himself into the second round with a good interview or two.
Right now, Wilson can contribute to most teams as a deep-threat option. He has been mocked to the Detroit Lions and could fit their offense nicely as a complement to All-Pro slot monster Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Lions recently went on an historic run but fell just short of the Super Bowl after losing in the NFC Championship game. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has announced his return and could be interested in adding another element to his offense.
Wilson played four years at the University of Michigan and totaled 107 catches for 1707 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was a large part of Michigan’s passing attack over the last few years with his proficiency running over routes. Wilson was originally recruited to play as part of the Josh Gattis ‘speed in space’ offense but chose to stick around after his departure.

Phenomenal first day for Michigan WR Roman Wilson, who glided past coverage all afternoon. Wildly smooth route runner, plus he’s got the gas he needs to stretch defenses vertically.
Looking forward to more from him tomorrow 👌 pic.twitter.com/nA5abkwc54
