The 6-foot-5, 245-pound edge rusher is ranked No. 12 among players in Maryland, No. 28 among all edge rushers nationally and No. 433 overall, per 247 Sports' composite rankings. He's also the second commit from Maryland in the past week, joining Gwynn Park's three-star edge Devon Baxter.

Nichols, who took an official visit to Ann Arbor at the beginning of the month, chose the Wolverines over Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky and Wisconsin, among others.

Michigan now has 23 commits — 14 four-stars and nine three-stars — in its 2024 class, which ranks No. 3 nationally behind Georgia and Ohio State, according to 247 Sports' rankings.
