Miami Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa defeat LA Chargers, Justin Herbert in Week 1 | Live updates

It's game day for Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins.

Miami will face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday in a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff on the West Coast. CBS will have the afternoon broadcast.

Tagovailoa will make his regular season return after missing the end of last season due to repeated head injuries. He featured in a handful of drives for the Dolphins during the preseason.

The Dolphins are juggling other injury issues as veteran offensive lineman Terron Armstead is set to miss the contest due to knee, back and ankle issues. It will only add to the challenge of protecting Tagovailoa from Chargers pass rushers Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa.

Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are not listed on the Dolphins' injury report.

Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert is entering his fourth season as the Chargers' starting quarterback. Last year, the Chargers finished 10-7 and reached the NFL playoffs, the franchise's best finish since a 12-4 record and playoff appearance in 2018.

The Chargers defeated the Dolphins 23-17 on Dec. 11, 2022 in a Thursday night primetime matchup.

Dolphins DB Elijah Campbell was declared out Friday with a knee injury.
