Dolphins training camp report: Jalen Ramsey leaves on cart

MIAMI GARDENS — Thursday marked Day 2 of the 2023 Dolphins training camp.

Here are some of the things we noticed:

• CB Jalen Ramsey left the practice field on a cart as practice ended. He put no weight on his left knee.

• In 11-on-11 drills, Jalen Ramsey went up with Jaylen Waddle along the left sideline for a dedep throw by Tua Tagovailoa. Ramsey clearly was looking for the INT but had to settle with a pass break-up.

• Tagovailoa hit Braylon Sanders with an intermediate ball.

• TE Elijah Higgins dropped a pass from Skylar Thompson.

• Thompson and Robbie Chosen connected for a nice gain. Thompson then found Sanders for a good gain.

• Hill had a step on the defense, but Thompson underthrew him, resulting in an incompletion.

• Play of day candidate: Thompson struck on a 65-yard bomb to Braxton Berrios.

• Tagovailoa, with plenty of time to survey options, hit Hill deep against Xavien Howard.

• Zach Sieler sacked Tagovailoa.

• Rookie RB De'Von Achane showed he has some hands, catching a toss from Thompson. He caught 36 passes for 196 yards and three TDs last year at Texas A&M.

• OT Terron Armstead, who's on the physically unable to perform list, worked on the side, doing boxing exercises. He wore a wrap on his right knee.

• CB Kader Kohou intercepted a Tua Tagovailoa pass in seven-on-seven drills. Tyreek Hill was the intended receiver. Tagovailoa came back, threading a ball by Kohou to Cedrick Wilson.

• RB Salvon Ahmed, in contention for one of the final roster spots at his position, showed good burst around the right side.

• FB Alec Ingold had the orange jersey honors, representing the practice player of the day from the previous workout.
