Miami begins their joint practices with the Eagles this week in preparation for the crucial third preseason game. This is where we’ll get the biggest preview of what our 2017 starters will look like as they should play the majority of the first half. Here is an update on the list of injuries that we have accrued so far this preseason.

Walt Aikens, S, Back

Aikens was held of practice today while he nurses a back injury, the same one that also held him out of Thursday’s game against the Ravens.

Nate Allen, S, Groin

Starting safety Nate Allen, well at least for the first 8 games, has been nursing a groin injury for over a week now. He did practice today so that is a good sign.

Leonte Carroo, WR, Hamstring

Those dreaded hamstrings. Carroo sat out Sunday’s practice due to his sore hamstring, but did practice today against the Eagles. He is expected to play on Thursday.

Kenyan Drake, RB, Concussion

While Drake may have been allowed to practice on a limited basis, he is still in the concussion protocol and remains day-to-day until he is cleared.

Isaiah Ford, WR, Knee

Ford is heading to IR following his knee surgery. An unfortunate, but not terrible thing, now we can keep him on the shelf until next year. He’d be excellent depth at the very least if we lose Jarvis Landry.

Jakeem Grant, WR/KR, Foot/Achilles

Grant was dealing with some Achilles tightness in Thursdays game is now just nursing it. He was a full go at practice today and doesn’t expect to miss time.

Neville Hewitt, LB, Shoulder

Neville Hewitt missed practice today with an apparent shoulder injury.

Ju’wuan James, RT, Shoulder

James missed a lot of last week nursing a shoulder injury, as well as the preseason game. He was back at practice today, but it is unclear whether he will play Thursday.

Chris Pantale, TE, Concussion

Pantale suffered a concussion, his second in two preseasons, in Miami’s loss to Baltimore on Thursday. He will enter protocol and will likely miss this week’s showdown with Philadelphia.

Rashawn Scott, WR, Foot

Scott has been dealing with a nagging foot injury since June, and it doesn’t appear that he will be coming back any time soon. This may likely be his last camp with the Dolphins.

Mike Pouncey, C, Hip

Pouncey is the player we all are hoping heals well. He is participating in individual as well as 11 on 11 drills today, which is a great sign. Gase is considering playing him on Thursday and stated that we are “pretty close” to utilizing him at full capacity.

Kraig Urbik, C, Knee

Urbik was held out of Miami’s second preseason game due to a knee issue. According to Adam Gase there is a chance that Urbik will miss the start of the season. Our line really can’t afford any more injuries.
