MIAA alpine ski state championships highlight early tournament MetroWest Fantastic Five

They're still dancing. Monday and Tuesday's Fantastic Five MetroWest and Milford high school athletes keep their teams alive in the MIAA state tournament. Or in one case finished the year on top of the podium.

Check out the list below and see where to find them in the next round to see if they can keep it going:

LOGAN GREENLAW, Keefe Tech boys basketball

He poured in 30 points with 15 rebounds, as the Broncos (11-10) beat No. 33 Mount Everett 71-59 on Tuesday in the Division 5 preliminary round. Keefe Tech will face No. 1 Hoosac Valley at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Round of 32. George Anastos canned three 3-pointers for 15 points, and Noah Lyons scored 11 for Keefe Tech.

SEAN McGEE, Hopedale boys ice hockey

He had a goal and assist in a 3-0 win over No. 34 Somerville on Tuesday in the Division 3 preliminary round. Aiden Collins and Joe Butler scored, as the No. 31 Blue Raiders (6-13-2) found the net three times in the final period. Nathan Morin earned the shutout for Hopedale, which will travel to face No. 2 Shawsheen Tech at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hallenbourg Arena in Billerica in the Round of 32.

EVIE SCHWARTZ, Lincoln-Sudbury girls basketball

She scored 18 points with four rebounds in a 59-40 win over No. 39 Medford on Monday to send the No. 26 Warriors (14-7) to the Division 1 Round of 32. They will face No. 7 Weymouth (18-4) on Friday. L-S' Sarah Poland added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Carly McKeown contributed 10 points, seven assists and five steals.

MEGAN SIMPSON, Holliston girls basketball

She dropped 19 points with five steals for the Panthers (10-11) in a 49-30 win over No. 38 Bay Path in the Division 2 girls state tournament Tuesday. No. 27 Holliston will face No. 6 South Community High on Saturday in the Round of 32 at 3:30 p.m. Sarah Kuchman pulled down 12 rebounds for the Panthers, while Kaylee MacDonald contributed nine rebounds, five steals and five assists. Holliston's Sophia Lynch scored 10 points.

Quadruple digits: Megan Simpson becomes eighth member of Holliston's 1,000-point club in loss to Norwood

TYLER ZILINSKI, Ashland/Medfield boys alpine skiing

He flew down the giant slalom course at Wachusett Mountain in 53.53 seconds to win the boys individual state championship Tuesday. He edged the field by .04 seconds. Zilinski also placed fourth in the slalom (46.85). Dover-Sherborn took third as a boys team.

Boys basketball

No. 27 Millis 74, No. 38 St. Mary Parish (Westfield) 60: Senior Adam Hart posted 15 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double Tuesday that sent Millis (10-11) to the Division 4 Round of 32. Millis will travel to No. 6 Burke at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Girls basketball

Clutch at the line: Calleigh Elder keeps her cool as Bellingham girls basketball defeats AMSA in state tourney

No. 33 Methuen 70, No. 32 Algonquin 44: Ashley Dameri led three Titans in double figures with 14 points in the Division 1 preliminary round Tuesday. Sophia Hjerpe and Brooke Adams scored 12 each for Algonquin (10-11).

No. 32 Westborough 57, No. 33 Marblehead 49: Annabelle Semeter netted 13 points, and Kate Sams and Rachel Carpenter each added 11 for the Rangers (13-8) on Tuesday. Westborough plays at 5 p.m. Friday at top-seeded Medfield in the Round of 32.

No. 22 Lunenburg 49, No. 43 Tri-County 31: Senior Gabby Dergham posted a double-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and five steals in her final game for the Cougars (11-8) on Tuesday. Tri-County freshman Neila Schweitzer pulled down 15 rebounds, and Jazmin Hancock scored eight points.

Boys ice hockey

No. 32 Lincoln Sudbury 4, No. 33 Lexington 1: Johnny Aliferis scored a goal and contributed an assist for the Warriors (6-15-1) on Monday. L-S' Dante Vanuto, Keenan Kirk and Tommy Kinzgogl also found the net, while Noah Shapiro and Matt Mahoney added an assist each. The win sets up a 6:40 p.m. date with top-seeded St. John's Prep at the Essex Sports Center on Wednesday.

Girls alpine skiing

Senior Sophie Ward placed 13th in the girls slalom at Wednesday's state championships at Wachusett Mountain. She completed the course in 52.31 seconds. Ward was also 26th in the giant slalom (57.97) and led the Warriors to a third-place team finish for the second year in a row.
