Who is starting for the Mets?

Carlos Carrasco, who took a loss his first time out against the Milwaukee Brewers. The veteran saw his velocity dip during his final innings, lasting just 4.0 innings while allowing five earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and four walks.

Carrasco also had some issues with the pitch clock, which will be worth watching this time around.

Who is starting for the Marlins?

Left-hander Braxton Garrett, who will make his second start against the Mets here in the early part of 2023. Garrett went just 3.0 innings his first time out against the Mets, allowing two earned runs on six hits. He had one strikeout and did not walk a hitter.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets stay home and welcome back the San Diego Padres to Citi Field for the first time since the 2022 Wild Card Round. The first game of a three-game series will be on Monday, with first pitch set for 7:10 p.m. on SNY.

Max Scherzer will face Yu Darvish.
