Mets spring training 2024: Report dates, schedule, ballpark info and how to see players

Let the warmth set in.

The New York Mets are about to leave for the Sunshine State and Port St. Lucie, Fla., as pitchers and catchers report for spring training.

It's an exciting time for the Mets after the blueprint shifted and several notable prospects were brought in at the trade deadline last season. In addition to the opportunity to see Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor up close, the next generation will enter into focus with Luisangel Acuña, Drew Gilbert and Jett Williams rising in the ranks.

As the Mets' preparation for the 2024 season gets underway, here is what fans should know for the trip down to Florida:

Spring training headquarters: Clover Park, 31 Piazza Dr., Port St. Lucie, Fla., 34986

Ticket information for exhibition games: The box office at Clover Park is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends throughout spring training. Tickets can also be purchased at mets.com. While parking is free during workouts, fans will be required to pay during Grapefruit League play.

Welcoming in the rivals: The spring Subway Series has taken on another layer of intrigue with the Mets bringing on manager Carlos Mendoza, the Yankees' former bench coach, starting pitcher Luis Severino and outfielder Harrison Bader. It's likely to be a happy reunion for Mendoza and Severino, who spent nearly a decade in the Bronx.

Mets fans' one opportunity to see a Subway Series matchup on the East Coast comes at 1:10 p.m. on March 5 at Clover Park.

Prospect showcase: The next generation of baseball standouts will be on full display March 15 as the top 20-25 prospects of the Mets and Nationals will take place at 3:05 p.m. at Clover Park.

This means, in addition to the potential availability of Acuña, Gilbert and Williams, Mets fans could witness outfielder Ryan Clifford, who was acquired in the trade of Justin Verlander, catcher Ronald Hernandez and third baseman Jacob Reimer.

The Nationals also boast one of the top minor league systems in baseball, led by outfielders James Wood, Robert Hassell III and Elijah Green.

To the West Coast: For those Mets fans who live on the West Coast of Florida or are vacationing there, the Mets will venture across the state during the final week of spring training, beginning with a trip to Lakeland and matchup with the Tigers on March 20.

The Mets also play the Yankees twice at George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Fla., down the stretch on March 22 and the teams' spring training finale on March 25.

How to watch Mets' spring training workouts

Workouts, which are open to the general public, normally begin between 9 and 10 a.m. each day. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. with free parking and limited concessions. The Clover Park complex offers numerous diamonds for fans to closely hone in on batting practice and fielding drills.

Visiting Port St. Lucie? Here's where to stay

There is a concentration of eight hotels within a 2-mile radius of Clover Park, including three Hilton-owned hotels, two Marriott properties and a Holiday Inn Express and Suites.

The Sheraton PGA Village Resort provides a few more amenities for a little more money.

A little further south down Interstate 95, Mets fans will find another four hotels in the burgeoning Tradition community, with a village center that includes a grocery store, several department stores, including Target and T.J. Maxx, and numerous chain restaurants.

Fifteen minutes north, the old fishing village of Fort Pierce offers a few more lodging options along with a small downtown with a few more beachfront restaurants.

Where to eat in Port St. Lucie

The area around the ballpark has a variety of cuisine to appease any fan's taste buds.

In the immediate vicinity of Clover Park, Spice Thai Sushi offers Asian fusion, with sushi, curry and stir fry. For Italian fare, Tutto Fresco near the PGA Village offers up pizza, pasta, seafood and other American classics.

For more quintessential favorites, the menu of West End Grill and Cottage Grill include salads, sandwiches and burgers. Mission BBQ is also a local favorite for smoked meat and comfort food.

There are also several recognizable chains in the Port St. Lucie, including Texas Roadhouse, Miller's Ale House, Starbucks and Wendy's. In Tradition, visitors will find Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse and Culver's, among a dozen different restaurants.
