Meet The Oklahoman's 2024 Class 4A-2A All-Tournament boys and girls basketball teams

Here’s a look at The Oklahoman’s selections for the 2024 Class 4A, 3A and 2A All-Tournament teams from the state basketball tournaments last week.

Class 4A boys

MVP: Davon Scott, Douglass

Scott has stepped up all year when the Trojans needed it most, and he did it again on Saturday in the state championship game. The junior’s game-tying 3-pointer in the final minute of regulation sent Douglass into overtime with Weatherford. He scored four points in the extra period to lead the Trojans to their second consecutive title.

Class 4A girls

MVP: Kayten Donley, Bethany

Donley scored 17 points as Bethany defeated Tulsa Lincoln Christian 48-28 for its second straight state title. In the state semifinals against Douglass, she logged 13 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals.

Class 3A boys

MVP: Luke Gray, Oklahoma Christian School

Gray’s dominant play led the Saints to their first state championship since 2007. Over the weekend, Gray averaged 22.3 points and 17 rebounds per game. In the finals against Millwood, Gray eclipsed the 2,000-point mark, becoming the only player in school history to do so.

MVP: Mary Carden, Idabel

Throughout the state tournament, opponents couldn’t overcome Carden’s presence in the paint. A 6-foot-6 Oral Roberts signee, Carden had 13 points in the state championship as Idabel defeated Washington 64-56 for its first girls basketball title.

MVP: Dayton Forsythe, Dale

The OU signee was unstoppable on Saturday, pouring in 36 points to lead Dale to its third consecutive state title. Forsythe averaged 27 points per game over the weekend and exited his Pirates career as their overwhelming all-time leading scorer.

Hartman was the heartbeat of Merritt’s team as it won its first girls state basketball title since 1980. She led Merritt with 11 points and seven rebounds in the 25-23 state championship game victory against Dale.
