The 2023 All-Greater Rochester Girls Small School Volleyball Team is revealed

Here is the 2023 All-Greater Rochester Girls Small School Volleyball Team as determined by a vote of Section V coaches with input from Democrat and Chronicle staff.

Player of the Year

Year: Senior

Parents: Susan and Jeffrey Cusmano

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishment: 283 kills

Future plans: I plan to attend SUNY Brockport where I will continue my volleyball career.

Why she is Player of the Year: Plenty of Section V players had outstanding seasons, but Ellie Cusmano proved to be the best. The senior outside hitter helped Attica win its first 21 matches, which included the program's first Section V title since 2019, and a regional appearance. Cusmano willed the Blue Devils to the Class C1 title. She was named tournament MVP after putting down 25 kills in the championship.

Parents: Kara Eastwood and Daniel Grace

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishments: 234 kills

Future plans: I plan to attend a small liberal arts college to study physics and biomedical engineering.

Year: Senior

Parents: Jessica and Kristian Kramer

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishments 255 kills

Future plans: I am undecided on a college but I plan on going for something in the medical field.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Melissa and Justin McCombs

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishments:  274 kills, 157 digs and 51 aces.

Future plans: I plan on attending college to further my academic studies and play collegiate level volleyball or softball, and possibly pursuing a career in physical therapy.

Year: Senior

Parents: Kealica and Timothy Moon

Position: Setter

Key accomplishment: 22 assists in a game

Future plans: Undecided.

Year: Junior

Parents: Esmeralda and Alejandro Ocampo

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishment: I am most proud of the team winning sectionals for the first time in 40 years.

Future plans: I plan to attend Finger Lakes Community College and hope to transfer to a Division I college.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Megan and Tom Pasquantonio

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishments: 210 kills this season (game-high 21 kills).

Future plans: Play volleyball in college.

Year: Senior

Parents: Alicia and Joel Reschke

Position: Setter

Key accomplishment: Over 1,000 assists

Future plans: I plan on going into the workforce for trades.

Year: Junior

Parent: Katiria Santiago Rivera

Position: Libero

Key accomplishment: 372 digs.

Future plans: I'm still figuring out my college plans, but I'm excited to explore different options and see where I'll end up. It's a big decision, so I want to make sure I make the right choice for myself.

Year: Junior

Parents: Cassandra and Eric Roberts

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishments: 156 kills with a kill percentage of 0.435.

Future plans: Attend college to receive my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and play volleyball.

Year: Senior

Parents: Sandralee and Christopher Robinson

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishment: 210 digs.

Future plans: As of right now I’m planning on attending college for physical education

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Krista and Josh Tompkins

Position: Setter

Key accomplishments: Three kills and 28 assists in a straight sets match

Future plans: Physical education teacher, but unsure where I want to go to college.

Coach of the Year

Profession: First grade teacher, Attica Elementary School

Varsity coaching experience: Attica varsity volleyball 2021-2023 (including spring and fall 2021).

Family: Husband Jon, children Nora, Matthew and Joseph.
