Meet the 2023-24 Daily American Somerset County Boys Basketball All-Star Team

Berlin Brothersvalley competed in its third PIAA Class 1A boys' basketball championship game in four years this season. The Mountaineers also claimed their fifth straight District 5 crown and an Inter-County Conference championship it their first season in the league.

Leading the way was Gannon University recruit Pace Prosser. The senior starred once again this season, earning his second straight Daily American Somerset County Boys Basketball All-Star Team Player of the Year selection.

"It was a pretty special final season," said Prosser. "We didn't cap things off the way we wanted, but we went 4-for-4 in district championships, and to cap it off with a couple state runner-up finishes is pretty special."

Prosser poured in 792 points (25.5 points per game), guiding Berlin to a 28-3 record. He pulled down 255 rebounds (8.2) to go along with 218 assists (7.0) and 96 steals (3.1). Prosser led the team in those categories.

The sharpshooter surpassed 2,000 career points this season, becoming only the 11th player in Somerset County history, male or female, to achieve the milestone. Prosser finished his career with 2,281 points.

Prosser credited his supporting cast and the players who came before him in helping him reach this level of play.

"When I was a freshman, that senior class with Elijah (Sechler), Abe (Countryman), Will (Spochart) and Preston (Foor), that was probably the best class that Berlin has had ever," Prosser said. "Learning from them and taking that stuff from them alongside Craig (Jarvis) and showing it to the younger guys these past few years has really helped the team.

"I can't do anything without my teammates. They get me open shots and help play a lot of good defense."
