Brady, a redshirt senior shortstop for the Bruins, is the niece of former Michigan football quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, who's regarded as the best quarterback and one of the most-accomplished athletes of all time.

The left-handed hitting infielder is no slouch herself, as she is the back-to-back Pac-12 Player of the Year and two-time All-America selectionn. She was also a finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year last season, and has represented Team USA twice.
Brady, who hopes to lead No. 6 overall seed UCLA back to the Women's College World Series after missing last season, should be among the most anticipated players to watch in this season's college softball tournament.

Maya Brady is the star shortstop for UCLA, where she has won back-to-back Pac-12 Player of the Year awards.
Maya Brady famously comes from a family of athletes, as her uncle, Tom Brady, is regarded as the best quarterback in NFL history, while her other uncle, Kevin Youkilis, is a three-time MLB All-Star and two-time World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox. Maya Brady's aunts, Julie Brady and Nancy Brady, played soccer at St. Mary's College and softball at UC Berkeley, respectively.
Maya Brady attended Oaks Christian High School in Thousand Oaks, California, where she was tabbed as the No. 2 overall recruit nationally in the 2019 class, according to FloSoftball. She was also a part of travel club OC Batbusters, which has produced numerous college softball stars such as Jocelyn Alo, Tiare Jennings and Amanda Lorenz, to name a few.
