The Match: From Kyle Berkshire and Paige Spiranac to Pat McAfee and Aaron Rodgers, here’s who we want to see in future matches

Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka briefly put aside their differences during the Ryder Cup to help Team USA win in impressive fashion.

The beef is back on and the two will square off in the fifth version of The Match this Friday, Nov. 26 in a 12-hole duel at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas.

Previous matches have featured Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Charles Barkley and Steph Curry. That got us thinking … who should be next?

Assuming everyone is healthy (including Woods, who shared a video on the practice range on Sunday), check out who we think would be fun to see in future versions of the Match.

Kyle Berkshire and Paige Spiranac vs. Bryson DeChambeau and Lexi Thompson

It’s time to get some women involved in these matches. This one in particular has storylines on multiple levels. Berkshire, a long-drive champion, and Spiranac, a former Division I player and current social media personality and podcast host, each get to prove they’ve got more than just big drives and personality (not that they need to) against two of professional golf’s best.

Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan vs. Phil Mickelson and Steph Curry

I mean, do I even need to convince you on this one? I doubt we ever see His Airness in a Match, but if anyone can talk smack on the course with Mickelson, it’s Jordan. Not to mention Woods just shared a video of him hitting a range ball and Mickelson is already stirring the pot for a return to competition.

Jordan to Tour player: ‘That’s why you’re not playing the major this week’

Michelle Wie West and Justin Thomas vs. Danielle Kang and Jordan Spieth

With her new television experience, Wie West would be the perfect Mickelson-esque player to help guide the discussion on the course. As for Thomas, Kang and Spieth, all three are younger stars in the game with personality that can carry a broadcast (and they’re all really, really good).

Tony Romo and Brooks Koepka vs. Aaron Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau

For this one we’re assuming that Friday’s match will be entertaining and not a cringey, bad-joke filled money grab event playing off an already cringey, bad-joke filled money grab of a beef. Plus Rodgers and DeChambeau get a chance to defend their title against a new team featuring a Tour pro and former NFL quarterback (who has tried his hand in pro golf).

Pat McAfee and Aaron Rodgers vs. anyone, you choose

Every Tuesday during the football season Rodgers joins the Pat McAfee Show for what has become a must-watch segment each week. The two have a great rapport, complement each other incredibly well and are guaranteed to put on a show no matter who is on the other team.

No Laying Up vs. ForePlay

Okay so this one is a little different but boy, oh boy, would it be fun. Both popular golf podcasts feature a crew of players with varying abilities and personalities. While Team No Laying Up may have the advantage in the talent department, Team ForePlay might be best suited for The Match conditions. Each boasts a strong and loyal following, making for a day that Golf Twitter can only dream of.
