Markieff Morris tugs on Seth Curry's shorts from bench because ... Markieff Morris?
The Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards played a thriller Monday night.
Washington won in overtime, 125-124 when Damian Lillard missed a last-second shot off a missed John Wall free throw.
But the end of overtime wasn’t the most interesting part of the game.
It was this moment at the end of regulation that raises eyebrows.
Markieff Morris grabs at Seth Curry from bench
With the game tied at 111 in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, Blazers guard Seth Curry set up on the sideline near the Wizards bench as Portland looked to win the game in regulation. When the play took shape in halfcourt, Wizards forward Markieff Morris reached out from the bench and tugged on Curry’s shorts.

At best, that was an annoyance. At worst, it was an impediment for Curry at a critical juncture of the game.
Here’s the big picture of the play, showing Lillard bringing the ball across halfcourt with Curry in the top right corner of the frame.

Morris lucky he wasn’t caught
There’s a very slim chance Lillard had any thought but to keep that last shot for himself. So it’s unlikely Morris’ tug had any impact on the outcome of the game.
That doesn’t make Morris’ move any less bush league. In fact, he’s fortunate he didn’t get caught and lose the game on late Blazers free throws.
