Mario Williams returns to practice field
The latest turn unfolded in the saga of Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams' aching left foot.
This time, it was positive news.
He returned to the practice field today and was riding a stationary bicycle after visiting doctors the previous day and missing practice.
"I'm fine," Williams told reporters. "It's not that serious. I appreciate the concern, but I'm alright."
Bills coach Doug Marrone got mad Tuesday when repeatedly asked about Williams not being at practice.
Marrone has declined to be forthcoming about Williams' condition.
"For me to speculate, I never speculate until I hear from the medical staff," Marrone said. "And I get frustrated, honestly, when it gets to a point where I feel like I've tried to explain myself in how I handle injuries, OK? I've answered the questions, and you keep coming at me, all right?"
The Bills signed Williams to a six-year, $100 million contract last year.
Although he had 10 1/2 sacks, seven after undergoing surgery for a wrist injury, Williams wasn't regarded as consistent.
