Mariners extend LHP LeBlanc

The Seattle Mariners announced the signing of left-hander Wade LeBlanc to a one-year contract extension through the 2019 season on Tuesday.

The deal includes club options for 2020, 2021 and 2022. LeBlanc will earn $2.75 million next season on the deal, according to ESPN, and the total deal can max out at $32 million with performance incentives.

The Mariners signed LeBlanc to a one-year major league deal in March worth $650,000, after he had been released from a minor league pact with the New York Yankees.

"We're all very happy for Wade, who has earned everything that's come his way," Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said in a statement. "His contributions on the mound have been integral to our success this season. In addition, his character, versatility and dependability make him a solid fit for our team moving forward."

LeBlanc, 33, has a 3.38 ERA in 16 games (11 starts) with the Mariners this season. The veteran is in his second stint with Seattle, also pitching for the team in 2016, and has a 4.29 ERA in 192 games (90 starts) across his 10-year major league career.
