Two former Ohio State football players will be trying to earn their first Super Bowl rings Sunday afternoon.
As the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Las Vegas, defensive ends Nick Bosa and Chase Young will try for their first championship in the NFL.
Bosa will become one of 18 former Ohio State football players to have played in multiple Super Bowls after previously losing to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV.
Former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jim Marshall and former New England Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel lead all Buckeyes with four Super Bowl appearances.
Wide receiver Paul Warfield, linebacker Bob Brudzinski and offensive lineman William Roberts each have three Super Bowl appearances.
Twenty five teams have had multiple former Ohio State players in the Super Bowl including the 2021 Cincinnati Bengals, which had five: defensive end Sam Hubbard, safety Vonn Bell, offensive tackle Isaiah Prince, cornerback Eli Apple and quarterback Joe Burrow, who also played college football at LSU.
Eighteen Super Bowls have had former Ohio State players on each team.
