Many different USC players got involved in the action vs Rice

The USC Trojans began the new era with Lincoln Riley against Rice on a Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles. It went well, and the Trojans cruised to a 66-14 victory that included a trio of defensive touchdowns in a surprising turn of events.

There were a ton of new faces on the USC Trojans sideline, including coaches and players, and Caleb Williams looked every bit like a Heisman Trophy quarterback. Jordan Addison got into the end zone in his first game, and it was a special afternoon in L.A. despite the searing heat.

Here is a look at various Trojans after Week 1 of the college football season.

19 of 22 passing for 249 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT. Magnificent.

Only 20 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards, but a lot of blitz pickups.

54 receiving yards and two touchdowns. There will be many more tuddies for Mr. Addison.

43 receiving yards, including a 25-yard catch, plus a 10-yard run.

A 40-yard catch, 36 rushing yards, and one Heisman pose. That’s a full stat line.

With only one five-yard catch, Rice had a relatively quiet day. Getting him more involved will be valuable for this offense.

CALEN BULLOCK

One pick-six and a lot of hustle plays.

USC’s pass protection was great. The run blocking can use some improvement.

One tackle and one QB hurry. We need to see more disruptive plays than what we saw on Saturday.

I’m sure you all had McCutchin getting a sack in this game.

Gordon was a rare USC Trojan who made an interception on Saturday but did not score a pick-six on it. A majority of USC’s four interceptions were taken to the house.

To be honest, we just thought this photo was really cool, pun intended.

AUSTIN JONES

A 21-yard catch and a 28-yard run. Do that every week and we’ll all have a grand old time this year at USC.

Lee was part of the pick-six parade, but he also made a team-leading eight tackles, two for loss.

ERIC GENTRY

Gentry watched Calen Bullock run back a pick-six, but that doesn’t mean he was a bystander on Saturday. Gentry collected seven tackles and disrupted throws with his long arms.

DE'JON BENTON

Benton had five tackles against Rice.

MILLER MOSS

Moss played the fourth quarter and threw seven passes, completing six of them for 81 yards. Getting lots of work in blowouts this season will accelerate his development at USC. This is how program building occurs.
