Magic forward Jonathan Isaac done for season with adductor muscle tear
Jonathan Isaac returned to the court in January for Orlando after missing two full seasons recovering from an ACL injury
Jonathan Isaac is out for the season once again.
The Orlando Magic forward, who missed the past two full seasons while recovering from a torn ACL, underwent surgery to repair a torn left adductor muscle on Friday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The tear was revealed in an MRI on Wednesday and will end his season.

“Our thoughts are with Jonathan, whose fortitude in dealing with adversity is unique,” Magic president Jeff Weltman said. “Jonathan has worked extremely hard to return to the court this season and has demonstrated his impact on our team. We will be by his side as he focuses on the work ahead.”
Isaac has played in just 11 games this season, and averaged five points and four rebounds in a little more than 11 minutes off the bench. He put up 10 points and seven rebounds in the Magic’s win over the Detroit Pistons on Feb. 23, his last game of the season.
Isaac first tore his left ACL during the NBA’s COVID-19 bubble at Walt Disney World. He missed the next two seasons recovering, but made his return earlier this season in January after spending some time with the Magic’s G-League team.
The Magic enter Friday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets with a 26-37 record after losing three of their last five. They currently sit in 13th in the Eastern Conference standings, 4.5 games back of the Washington Wizards in the final play-in spot.
