Lu Dort gave Shai Gilgeous-Alexander a helping hand during vaccinations

After the state of Oklahoma made COVID-19 vaccines available to all residents aged 16 and older, the Oklahoma City Thunder posted pictures of some players on the team getting vaccinated.

One of them was a rather adorable picture of wing Lu Dort giving a hand to guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Literally.

Apparently, Gilgeous-Alexander does not like needles, according to Complex. Dort stood by and let the guard squeeze his wrist as the needle was inserted.

Though the two players haven’t seen the floor in a while for the Thunder, it was a nice assist off the court from one teammate to another.

According to ESPN, the NBA is incentivizing vaccinations by lifting some health and safety protocols for vaccinated players, which would including fewer tests and mask requirements, and more freedom during road trips.

Royce Young reported that the Thunder players who got their first dose on Tuesday are expected to be fully vaccinated around the end of the season.

The Thunder’s next game will be Saturday night against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Gilgeous-Alexander is out for at least two more weeks due to a foot injury. He will be evaluated in mid-April, head coach Mark Daigneault said.

Dort entered concussion protocol on March 27 after getting hit in the head against the Boston Celtics.
