LSU men's basketball score vs. Texas: Live updates from Jalen Cook's return

LSU men's basketball will look to start a winning streak as the Tigers head to Houston's Toyota Center to face No. 22 Texas on Saturday (11 a.m., ESPN2).

The Tigers (6-4) are coming off a 74-56 victory at home over Alabama State on Wednesday. Mike Williams III led all LSU scorers with 15 points while Jordan Wright, Jalen Reed and Trae Hannibal also finished the night in double digits.

LSU shot an efficient 52% from the floor and scored 22 points off of Hornets turnovers. The win improved LSU's record to 4-2 at home this season

LSU guard Jalen Cook, who has been forced to sit out the first 10 games of the season, is expected to be available to play for the Tigers against the Longhorns.

The NCAA had barred Cook from playing this season after denying his two-time transfer waiver, but a judge ruled on Wednesday that the NCAA could not prevent Cook and others in his position — second time transfers needing a waiver to be immediately eligible to play this season — from playing over the next 14 days.

Cook had sent an appeal to the denied waiver but was still awaiting word from the NCAA on its verdict.

Texas (7-2) defeated Houston Christian last Saturday, 77-50.
