LSU football: JK Johnson suffers leg injury, other injury notes

BATON ROUGE — LSU football cornerback JK Johnson has suffered a leg injury and did not participate in practice on Monday.

Johnson had a cast on his leg and rode around the sidelines in a leg scooter, resting his knee on the scooter's raised platform and pushing off the ground with his healthy leg.

Johnson transferred to LSU from Ohio State this offseason after spending his first two seasons in Columbus.

LSU's thin cornerback room will have to lean on Duce Chestnut, Zy Alexander and Denver Harris even more following Johnson's injury.

LSU football: More injury notes, including Greg Brooks, Josh Williams and Jeremiah Hughes

Johnson's injury wasn't the only blow to the secondary on Monday. Veteran Greg Brooks Jr. sustained an injury toward the beginning of practice and did not return, and freshman cornerback Jeremiah Hughes also suffered a leg injury near the end of practice.

On offense, Josh Williams also exited practice with an injury. His shoulder pads and helmet were off by the time he returned to the field.
