LSU basketball player Sa’Myah Smith faints during White House ceremony
Scary moments during LSU White House celebration
The much-discussed LSU women’s national championship visit to the White House took place on Friday—and it wasn’t without incident. Freshman Sa’Myah Smith fainted during the ceremony and was taken out of the event in a wheelchair.
Coach Kim Mulkey offered an update: “As you can see, we leave our mark where we go,” Mulkey said. “Sa’Myah planned that. No, Sa’Myah is fine, for those of you who are concerned. I’ll assure you of that. … She doesn’t want to leave. She wants to stand with us but she needs to be checked out.
