LSU basketball adds Northwestern State center Kendal Coleman from the transfer portal

LSU basketball added Kendal Coleman from the transfer portal on Monday, Coleman announced on Twitter.

Coleman, a center at Northwestern State, averaged 15.4 points and 10.1 as a sophomore this past season. He also shot 54.6% from the floor and averaged 1.3 blocks.

At 6-foot-8 and 220 pounds, the Shreveport native was a defensive stalwart at Captain Shreve High School, leading the state in blocks as a junior.

Coleman becomes the first addition of the Matt McMahon era at LSU. The former Murray State coach was hired by the Tigers three days after LSU was eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by 11th-seeded Iowa State.
