Two local powerhouses are headed to Florida to compete for national championships. From Thursday, April 11 to Saturday, April 13, the University of Louisville's cheer and dance teams will perform at the 2024 NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer & Dance Championship in Daytona Beach.

The event, put on by the National Cheerleaders Association and National Dance Alliance, will feature over 470 collegiate teams and over 10,000 participants from across the country, according to PR Newswire.

U of L's All-Girl cheerleading team has competed for 23 national titles and won 19 since the group's establishment in 1998, according to an email to The Courier Journal.

The U of L dance team, the LadyBirds, has won 20 national championships, most recently in 2019, according to U of L.
