Louisville high school football roundup: Trinity, St. Xavier roll; Male QB throws for 7 TDs
Clint Sansbury turned all three of his touches into touchdowns to lead the Trinity High School football team to a 45-0 victory over visiting Eastern on Friday night.
Sansbury scored on runs of 9, 40 and 19 yards for Trinity (6-3), which is ranked No. 2 in Kentucky’s Class 6A. The Shamrocks extended their winning streak to four.
Trinity freshman quarterback Zane Johnson completed 8 of 11 passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. Chris Wilson had four receptions for 45 yards and a score.
Eastern quarterback Joshua Shipley completed 10 of 23 passes for 66 yards and was intercepted twice. The Eagles (3-5) managed 45 yards of offense, including minus-21 on the ground, and committed four turnovers.
Male 61, Fern Creek 13
Kolter Smith completed 13 of 15 passes for 262 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the No. 1 Bulldogs (7-1) over the Tigers (5-3).
Antonio Harris was the top target with four catches — all touchdowns — for 163 yards. Max Gainey (three catches, 28 yards, two TDs) and Colin Jefferson (three catches, 42 yards, one TD) also had big nights.
Senior Brenden Bates added a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown for Male.
Fern Creek’s Mykel Malone had 122 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.
St. Xavier 43, Meade County 0
Davis Yates rushed for 93 yards and three touchdowns to lead the No. 5 Tigers (5-3) over the visiting Green Wave (5-3).
Trevor Havill added 85 yards and two touchdowns on four carries as St. X racked up 268 rushing yards. Marlon Harbin had four receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Kentucky Country Day 35, Bethlehem 28
Kassani Wilson carried 27 times for 183 yards and four touchdowns as the No. 4 Bearcats (8-0) beat the No. 7 Eagles (4-4) in a battle of top-10 Class A teams at KCD.
KCD quarterback Ethan Harris passed for 96 yards and also rushed for a touchdown.
North Oldham 44, Western Hills 7
Jace Bullock completed 21 of 30 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Mustangs (5-3) over the host Wolverines (4-4).
North Oldham’s Gray Schmittel had 10 receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns.
Grayson County 16, Seneca 6
Kadin Hanshaw rushed for 91 yards, a touchdown and two 2-point conversions to lead the Cougars (7-1) over the Redhawks (3-4).
Kolby Chaffins added 70 rushing yards and a touchdown for Grayson County.
Collins 45, Anderson County 8
Freshman quarterback Kade Goodin completed 20 of 25 passes for 243 yards and five touchdowns to lead the host Titans (5-3) over the Bearcats (0-8).
Goodin also rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown. Jayden Martin was the top receiver with five catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Logan Huelsman, Michael Schramm and Quinten Wooten also had touchdown catches.
Lexington Christian 51, DuBois 0
Brady Hensley carried seven times for 139 yards and four touchdowns as the Eagles (7-1) — ranked No. 1 in Class 2A — beat the Lions (1-7).
Cutter Boley, a University of Kentucky commit, completed 8 of 13 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
