A look at Mid-Valley cross country runners at OSAA state championship
The OSAA state cross country championships for all classifications is set for Saturday at Lane Community College. Dozens of Mid-Valley runners will be representing their schools and running for individual glory.
The top boys runners in the Mid-Valley are South Salem’s Kelvin Wilson (15:19.8) and West Salem’s Jack Meier (15:20.3).
The top local Class 6A girl is Sprague’s Sara Abbott (17:53.4), and North Salem Isabel Swain is the top local 5A girl at 18:10.3.

Swain’s time is the second-best in the state this year, so she is the Mid-Valley’s best bet for a state champion.
