LOOK: A Belhaven baseball player gave football a try and it went embarrassingly wrong

Belhaven baseball was in a rain delay during the Collegiate Conference of the South tournament in Maryville, Tennessee, so, naturally, the young adult players needed something to do.

They found a football gauntlet machine and decided to give it a try. Video posted to social media shows one player quickly found out it’s best for him to stick to baseball.

Sophomore Caleb Menard took a handoff from a teammate and got pancaked flat onto his back as he tried to run through the machine. To his credit though, he didn’t fumble the ball, so at least he has some ball security skills.

The video was posted to TikTok by teammate Bradley Whitaker with the caption, “rain delay.” It had over 1.3 million views as of Sunday morning.

Remarkably, Menard, an outfielder/pitcher from Lafayette, Louisiana, didn’t appear to suffer a serious injury. In fact, he pitched on Saturday in the tournament semifinals and threw 2.2 innings while allowing one earned run. Belhaven lost 11-4 to LaGrange.

Menard went 1-3 with a 3.94 ERA in 16 innings in 2024.

Belhaven ended the season with a 25-17 record.
