Poker tournaments set for Black Friday

Black Friday poker tournament benefiting West Muskingum Local Schools sports programs will be Nov. 25 at the booster hall, 2170 Highland Road. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Tournaments are at 11 a.m. and 3 and 7 p.m. with $35 buy-ins. Cash tables and sit-and-go also planned. Concessions will be available.

JG CC/Track to host Jingle Mingle 5K Run/Walk

The John Glenn Cross County and Track & Field Boosters have opened registration for the third annual Jingle Mingle 5K Run/Walk on Dec. 17 in New Concord.

This is a family-friendly event open to the community; children and strollers are welcome. The race begins at Noon with check-in available starting at 11 a.m. Registration is $30 (before Dec. 4) & $40 (from Dec. 4 through race day) and includes a T-Shirt for the first 100 registrants.

JavaMomo Breakfast Cakery will be on-site selling fresh baked muffins and cookies to attendees. Athletes will also be selling chances to win a Christmas Cash grand prize and the annual raffle will include various items donated by area businesses.

All-Ohio soccer players announced

The Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association released their All-Ohio teams on Thursday.

Rosecrans' Sydnee Maxwell earned first-team mention for Division III girls; Maysville's Wyatt Mynes and John Glenn's Will Nicolozakes were second-team selections for Division II boys; and Rosecrans' Grady Labishak made second team for Division III boys.

Rosecrans hosting Philo in Foundation Game

Rosecrans welcomes Philo boys basketball for an OHSAA Foundation game on Friday, Nov. 25 at Rogge Gymnasium.

The Freshman game begins at 4:45 p.m. followed by JV and Varsity. All of the proceeds go to Christmas on the Hill.
