Live updates: Vanderbilt men's basketball vs. VCU
Vanderbilt men's basketball (2-0) faces its first real test of the season Wednesday night against VCU (1-1).
The Rams have long been mid-major darlings in the Atlantic-10 Conference. They are best known for their Final Four run in 2011, but since then, VCU has made the NCAA Tournament eight out of nine years a tournament was held, with two regular season and two conference tournament titles. The Rams were once again selected for the tournament in 2021 as a No. 10 seed but were unable to participate due to COVID-19 protocols. VCU, however, lost a lot of its production from last year and suffered an early-season setback with a loss to Wagner on Saturday.
What the Rams do bring is size, with six players at 6-foot-7 or taller on the roster, compared to just four for the Commodores (one of whom, Liam Robbins, is out indefinitely).
The game will be available to stream at 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network+ and ESPN+.
