Game recap: Miami Dolphins overcome injuries to defeat Las Vegas Raiders

MIAMI GARDENS -- The Miami Dolphins return from a bye week rested and with a new look in some cases ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. Keep scrolling for updates, and remember to refresh the page for the latest.

The Dolphins did not play last week after losing 21-14 against the Kansas City Chiefs in Frankfurt, Germany in their previous game.

Miami (6-3) is in first place in the AFC East with a game-and-a-half advantage over the Buffalo Bills (5-5), who stumbled at home in a loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill remains the NFL leader in receiving yards (1,076) and touchdowns (8) while veteran running back Raheem Mostert has an NFL-best 11 rushing scores.

The Raiders (5-5) are in second place in the AFC West and have caught some momentum after the midseason firing of head coach Josh McDaniels. Las Vegas has won back-to-back games under interim coach Antonio Pierce.

Rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell has taken over as starter since veteran Jimmy Garoppolo was benched on Nov. 1. O'Connell has 675 passing yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in four career games played.

Las Vegas leads the all-time series between the Dolphins and Raiders 21-19-1. The Raiders won the most recent matchup 31-28 in overtime on Sept. 26, 2021 in Las Vegas.

Jalen Ramsey grabs game-sealing interception

The Dolphins will hold onto victory at Hard Rock Stadium.

Aidan O'Connell took a deep shot to the end zone with less than 40 seconds remaining and Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey made an athletic leaping interception to seal the win.

Miami wins 20-13 to improve to 7-3 overall. The Dolphins have won four of their last six games.

The Dolphins got a big stop on fourth down in Miami territory as Christian Wilkins wrapped up and slung down Aidan O'Connell, who flung the ball into the waiting arms of linebacker Jaelan Phillips.

Miami takes over attempting to run out the clock with just over three minutes remaining. Miami leads 20-13 and the Raiders have three timeouts.

Jason Sanders hits first 50+ yard field goal

The Dolphins have dominated the third quarter but have been limited to three field goal attempts.

Veteran kicker Jason Sanders converted a 51-yard field goal, his first make on a field goal from beyond 50 yards this season. He missed one from 50 yards earlier in the game.

Tua Tagovailoa intercepted on first play of second half

Miami committed its third turnover of the game as Tua Tagovailoa threw deep to Jaylen Waddle and was intercepted by Isaiah Palo-Mao.

The Raiders were unable to generate any success on the ensuing drive and punted back to the Dolphins after three plays.

Dolphins fumble again but settle for field goal

Miami lost its second fumble of the first half as Julian Hill was stripped in Dolphins territory.

The Dolphins forced a three-and-out, however, and only surrendered a field goal.

Miami leads 14-13 with moments until halftime.

The Dolphins restored their lead as Tua Tagovailoa hit running back Salvon Ahmed on a short screen pass in the Lax Vegas red zone.
