Live updates and analysis of Jacksonville Jaguars' picks in 2023 NFL Draft

Jaguars fans return to EverBank Stadium for the first time since Jan. 14 when the team rallied from a 27-0 deficit to beat the Los Angeles Chargers 31-30 in a playoff game.

The 2023 NFL Draft has arrived for the Jacksonville Jaguars. So have the "Duuuval!" chants.

All 32 teams will participate from Thursday through Saturday in the NFL's annual selection of elite college football talent, scheduled this year for Union Station in Kansas City.

The Jaguars held the 24th pick in the first round, one of their nine selections overall in the seven-round draft. They started by trading back and picking Oklahoma offensive lineman Anton Harrison with the No. 27 pick. The team will also pick 56th (second round), 88th (third round), 121st and 127th (both fourth round), 185th, 202nd and 208th (all sixth round) and 226th (seventh round), barring trades from Jacksonville general manager Trent Baalke and the front office.

The Jaguars are seeking to add further pieces to the team's core around 2021 No. 1 selection Trevor Lawrence, who led the Jags to the AFC South title and a divisional playoff berth in the first year for head coach Doug Pederson.

That's the seventh local headed to the NFL: DeWayne McBride, who played his sophomore and junior years at Fleming Island, goes to the Vikings at No. 222 after gaining more than 1,700 yards on the ground last year at UAB.

There's a Bear headed to the NFL. Xavier Hutchinson, who set staggering numbers as a receiver at Iowa State, goes to the Texans at No. 205. He's the first Bartram Trail graduate drafted since Nathan Peterman in 2017.

Scarlet Knights defensive back Christian Braswell becomes the second DB of the Jaguars' draft. He becomes only the second Rutgers draftee in franchise history, following wide receiver Tiquan Underwood in 2009.

The third Jacksonville-area player off the board: Warren McClendon won two national championships with Georgia and he's now NFL-bound. That's another linebacker pick for the Jaguars, a proven ACC pass rusher in Abdullah (nine and a half sacks in 2022). It's a wait of 24 picks now until the next Jacksonville selection, barring further trades.

The fourth round is in the books. The Jaguars now hold the first pick, No. 136, in the fifth round.

The trades aren't done yet. Trader Trent Baalke is moving down again, dealing No. 25 to Buffalo to move down two spots to No. 27 and picking up a fourth-rounder (No. 130).
