FINAL SCORES: Get Gainesville-area week 5 high school football results here

Welcome to Week Five in North Central Florida High School Football.

Thursday night, we saw two historic programs, Santa Fe and Gainesville High, seek their first win of the season (The 'Canes prevailed 49-21 to end a 15 game losing streak).

Friday night, we will see four undefeated teams battle each other. At Citizens Field, Vanguard (Ocala) (4-0) comes to Alachua County to face Buchholz (4-0) in a battle of top four ranked teams in Class 3S and 4S. Out in Columbia County, Fort White (4-0) welcomes in Williston (4-0) in a critical Class 1R matchup.

Elsewhere, Chiefland (2-2) and Newberry (3-1) meet in another massive 1R game, and the reigning king of the class, Hawthorne (4-0), is in Gainesville at PK Yonge (2-1).
