Live Oak girls advance to D-II finals; boys fall on penalty kicks
Feb. 22—With a 5-1 win over Orland, the Live Oak girls soccer team earned a second straight berth into the Northern Section Division II championship set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Live Oak High School.
The Lions, the top-seed in the division, will square off against No. 2 University Prep, the same team that stopped Live Oak from the crown a year ago.
Live Oak (21-1-1) will be relying heavily on its top-two goal scorers, Johanna Petrone and Mckayla Holmen — the former scoring two goals and adding a pair of assists for six points in the semifinal win over Orland.
